StrayCat shared about slipping in fitness over the last few months as he was traveling. We have to always accelerate our fitness and push harder. You are either improving or sliding backwards. You are green and growing or ripe and rotten.

We need the men of F3 to push us forward to greater levels of fitness. We will backslide on our own.

Danish shared about the joy of suffering workouts together on Mondays after the weekend. Lumbergh shared he was tired from a 5 mile run yesterday, but the PAX pushed him to finish this workout strong.

Work and Family Balance

I shared about how I regret all the time I’m spending away from my family and F3 for work commitments. I shared how my health has suffered from not being in my normal routine, and how much I miss my Family, friends and F3.

I have a lot more work and trips coming up this year, but I’m determined to continue to work out while traveling. I’ll need some accountability with this. I’m also determined to set better boundaries at work to prevent this from occurring in the the future.

We talked about the importance of habits. I shared my slow but steady progress on pull-ups over the last 3 months by working on them steadily 3x a week. I shared I found a book about habits. According to the book the three most important ones were:

Diet

Sleep

Exercise

Clutter

We drilled down on clutter, and I shared that I struggle in this area and want to make it a Go30 goal this net month. There were a lot of good insights from the PAX about clutter in our lives (things, people, mental clutter), and things we can do to reduce clutter (Marie Kondo(ing), Journaling, etc). It was a really great discussion, and it gave me a lot of ideas for improvement in my own life.

Start learning something that interests you. I’ve never regretted any time I’ve spent learning.

We talked about the concept of a HIM this morning. The military is about the group being larger than the individual and this concept is largely lost in todays culture. We looked at examples in the Roman Empire of one person making huge impacts on millions of people, and of SadClowns ultimately destroying the Empire.

All of us can make huge differences in our communities and there is a large leadership void that needs to be filled. We had a special call out for TreeTrunk as a HIM example who started a F3 Group in Pendleton after only Posting 2x in Portland. He has 4 people posting regularly now after a few months of operation.
